After the success of her debut EP, 8 Ball, Wolfie is back with more soulful R&B, this time in the shape of ‘Better Than Me’. Perhaps the first thing to note about the track is that its production is tight and pretty damn flawless, all credit to UK producer Jordan Riley. Riley brings a welcome pop feel to the track, with Mura Masa-esque clicks and wails cutting through a deep, warm bassline. Further displaying her intent for the year ahead, Wolfie has also teamed up with BBC Sound of 2017 finalist Nadia Rose. Rose’s silver-tongued verses have a confident and relaxed feel to them, and together the duo tackle an ex whose new girl thinks she’s ‘Better Than Me’. But with tracks as polished as this, the powerhouse duo of Wolfie and Rose look out to prove that they’re better than just about anyone. -HM
